Can you help us meet our annual live stream appeal target of £10,000 this year?
This has not been the season we had hoped for with Aran losing his nest of ten years to KC6/Teifi. It’s also the first time in 22 years that there have been no chicks on the nest. However, without our cameras and all the associated equipment, we would not have been able to transmit the dramatic pictures of Aran’s valiant but unsuccessful battle for the nest and the numerous intruders who kept him occupied following his late arrival in April.
Followers will be aware that a new camera and cabling were installed as part of the nest refurbishment work in March. The complexity of the technology and running the six cameras we use to bring you pictures of the Glaslyn nest, the surrounding valley and the views of the river and its associated wildlife through the winter months, can be costly.
We apologise that there have been some breaks in transmission at the start of the season but we hope to resolve all issues over the winter months in preparation for what we hope will be a more successful season in 2026.
In the meantime, our cameras will remain focussed on Elen and Teifi’s movements in and around the nest, any intruders – there has been 12 identified so far – and of course we hope Aran, who is spending time in a nearby area, will put in another appearance on ‘his’ nest.
Your support, as ever, is much appreciated.
