Volunteers and trustees of BGGW are delighted to share the news that the third and final osprey chick of the Glaslyn nest hatched this morning, May 24th.
The egg cracked in half around 5:44 am and the little chick was free of its shell by 5:57 am. Only a few hours later it was enjoying breakfast along with its siblings. A very happy day here at BGGW to see another complete nest and all chicks looking healthy. They’re in the best possible hands, or talons with experienced mother Mrs G and super fisherman Aran.
The chicks arrived just in time as tomorrow sees the start of Gŵyl y Gweilch at the Visitor Centre. A three day festival with stalls and activities for all the family. With three new arrivals on the nest, it is also cause for celebration! Did we mention there will be cake? We hope you can make it!
